I'm surprised that the dates for this year's event have not been released yet.
It's pretty difficult to plan on attending when we don't know when it's going to be.
Will there even be a BMST this year ?
muutt
August 24-29, according to their website.

Yep, they're posted now.
That was quick.
I'm considering attending this year as a spectator . . . if any 300+ mph bikes will be running.
If there are any teams expecting to exceed 300 mph at this meet, I'd love to know about this in advance, so I can
plan my trip. Thank you in advance.
Tall, can guarentee if you don't go and any of the very few 300MPH bikes are there and go fast you won't see it :?
Is there any news? Daily runs? Photos?
No 2024 articles on the BMST web site. They may have published the "pre-entry" list but not clear it is for the 2024 event. There was a link to Facebook, but now seems to be broken.
Quite a bit of activity on the salt camera... some after dark, some before dawn... left side of pic looks like pits maybe
Anybody know if the Bub 7 ran?
Looks like the course was being dragged late this afternoon.

I hear their first run was 386.685 mph. muutt :dhorse: muutt :?
Well that's certainly a qualifier! ~10mph in the bank!

I'm impressed. The existing record is kinda old. Good luck to all the teams.
Humm must running in an alternate universe. Denis told me yesterday he hasn?t run yet.
I saw a 386 (or so) posted, but I also saw that they hadn't made a run yet. Hmmm...
Bub 7 - Rivas - run the afternoon two days ago and fall over at 1/2 mile, except some lost of red paint nothing happens, if there was any damage on the pride is unknown.

Sooo, where did you hear this TD? Wish I could be there.
I was a starter at the mountain and international track all week long. BUB 7 only ran once then had a problem at the 2 mile. The team tried to run again today, but since the prestage closed at 11 am, it was turned away. No successful runs.

Thanks Don. Were the conditions OK? Too windy, soft salt?
Most of the time the conditions were perfect! Hard salt, several days with little wind. When I got home, the truck had very little salt on it meaning it was not too wet. The first day of racing, a thunderstorm came through in the afternoon and racing stopped for the rest of the day. Then on Wednesday there was a wind hold for a brief period. Everyone who could run got lots of hot laps in. But very few bikes in the 200 mph+ range for some reason. Some racers said the course was bumpy. That could be the reason.
Don
I wish to express a big "Thank you" to all who worked so hard to make this event happen.
It takes a lot of effort. I'm guessing that much (if not most) of it is by unpaid volunteers.
I also want to thank the racers and their teams. Without them, we wouldn't have events like this.
To all: "Stay safe. Go fast."
The rain got the big end of the course so coming back on return runs it was apparently pretty mushy. muutt
Sid.
Does anybody know if there is a list of pending records that were set this year? Curious if my 250 M-CF record still stands... kind of hope it doesn't since it was one of those embarrassingly slow records :-D
Sad I missed the event this year but hope to be back in 2025.
