Title: Fire Suppression
Post by: Dodge Brother on February 06, 2025, 06:39:22 PM
I have AFFF bottles for both my cabin and engine compartment and have been through tech with no issues but need to upgrade my cabin system to a 10lbs bottle in hopes the truck hits 200mph this year. I hadn't noticed this before but the rule seems to prohibit the use of AFFF in the cabin.

I've sent emails to a couple of the tech people in the rule book but have yet to receive a response.

Before I buy a new bottle, is anyone else running AFFF for their cabin fire suppression system?

I have a message saved from an SCTA inspector telling me AFFF is ok for both engine and cabin.  I questioned if I need separate systems or 1 - 10lb system for both me and engine (2 zone set up) and was told 1 - 10lb 2 zone set up of AFFF sounds good.  It is likely what I will be doing this year.
