Title: Current Parachute Suppliers for Streamliners
Post by: Double A on August 29, 2025, 07:10:23 AM
Good Morning Everyone!

We are currently in our vehicle design stages and are trying to figure out who (companies) are the current suppliers for streamliner specific parachutes.  I know from reading some of the forums that a number of manufacturers/suppliers have gone out of business.  With your help I would like to understand who is currently in the game and which ones support the events with high quality products and good customer service.  We will be designing the car around them and would like to count on support for many years.

Thanks,
Double A

You might consider using 3 or 4 high small high speed chutes instead of the standard 1 small and 1 large . Very little to go wrong with this combination .

John,

Thank you for the reply.  This will be the first time we are working with parachutes, so starting from a small amount of know how with them.  Most of the vehicles we have designed and raced use massive brakes for stopping power.  We completely understand the salt can't take the braking G to stop the car and most brakes don't have the heat capacity to do so over that distance either (thus the rules requiring chutes).  I reached out to Stroud just recently and will let them weigh in.  I would like to know who the remaining main players are in the LSR chute business.  When you say small high speed chutes.......any examples or links?

Thanks for the input,
Double A

The quickest configuration we will be planning on running is I/BFS and right now that record is 315 and change.
