Title: Toe clip return throttle
Post by: neandethal on February 04, 2026, 08:42:50 AM
Hi, looking at the "run what you brung" rules under section 10.b it says foot throttle must have a toe clip return throttle. Could someone enlighten me as to what this means please, cheers Ian

On a cable operated foot pedal you need a way to return the pedal if the return springs were to break or fail. Just a loop a the top of the pedal that your toes fit under to pull the pedal back and bring the engine back to idle.

Am not sure what the OP is looking at. Section 10 in the rule book is El Mirage records and this is posted in the motorcycle section here> do bikes (generally) have anything other than twist grip throttles on handle bars? For cars section 3.J applies and Cable throttles do not require a toe strap as they accomplish nothing in that setting.
