Try https://www.jcb.com/en-GB/campaigns/jcb-hydromax/.
The SCTA/BNI made special accommodations for it. See page 16 of the 2026 rule book.

Interesting video, Woody. Thanks for posting.
Interesting watch, thanks for posting.
Someone here a lot smarter than me needs to tell me why they needed to develop new tires. There are several cars attempting to run faster than 350 mph (the stated limit of the tires on the diesel car). Are the tires an odd size or are there just not any available of a current Goodyear design?
Please educate me.
Hi Gary,
The record they set was "JCB DIESELMAX SETS NEW RECORD 350 mph - 23 August 2006"
I just looked up the spec's on the size tire and rim and they were 23x15 Goodyear.
I believe the key to this is the date they were running. As I recall that size Goodyear tire at the time was a drag race front runner which had a speed limit on it. The newer Goodyear tires made now were not available back then.
Someone will correct me if I am wrong, but I think this is the answer to the Dieselmax problem.
PS. Now I do know that Goodyear currently does make a 23x15 Goodyear Landspeed Tire, but I don't know if that tire meets the specifications needed for the new car? I guess for the correct answer you would have to contact them. I will attach the Goodyear spec's for Landracing tires in a few hours.
Well I tried but converting the PDF to word did not work. So here is what it says. #2953, 23.0x5.0-15, 23.1 average diameter, $ 796.00.
#2858, 23.0x5.0-15 , 24.3 average diameter, $ 870.00.
Number, Min. PSI, Max Load, Max Speed
2953 70 psi 1700 lbs. 300 mph
2858 70 psi 1700 lbs. 320 mph
That's such a cool looking machine. I just hope they don't plan on pushing it with one of those tractors. Last time it really tore the surface up. Plus when that happened the salt was a whole lot thicker. Now that it's so thin it would really wreck the surface, especially for the bike guys.
It seems shakedown runs, crew training and low speed testing at RAF Wittering were all successful this week.
The declared target is to set a record at 351mph, but I suspect there is some British understatement there. The car looks capable of 400mph on paper, but will the August 2026 Bonneville course be long enough and smooth enough to support runs that fast?
I posted an article from Road & Track under the "Bonneville General Chat" forum page. Pretty interesting.
I stopped by Maxwell Industries last week and spoke to Steve Watt about the JCB project and he told me that the vehicle is being shipped directly to Wendover and that the 715 crew will provide support for the Speedweek program as well as the FIA program they intend to run immediately after Speedweek. Should be pretty rad. Can't wait to see it in person!
I understand their liner is being flown to the US from England so it would seem they're on a bit of a budget!

Correction: it seems JCB Hydromax will be chasing the (arguably soft) AA/BGS record rather than the out-of-reach AA/BFS one.
I don't normally do Facebook but I can read the SCTA account, which says reps have voted to put hydrogen-powered internal combustion engines in the Gas classes rather than Fuel.
It's probably a bit academic since I think they are more interested in setting an FIA record, i.e. mainly using Speed Week as an extended test 'n' tune session.

Agreed. When I spoke with Steve Watt, I got the impression that Speedweek was basically a test & tune for the following weekend where they will make an assault on an FIA record. I've sent an inquiry to the FIA asking about classification and if they are running on a current or open record. Stand by.
They should be in A-XV-14.
There are no existing records in that class.
Perhaps there's a minimum for the 200 Club?
Gee, haven't seen Andy Green for a while -- looks a little older>

Eh? I don't think so ...
... Andy's already in the 200 Club! 😉
. . . if there's no record for a class, the 2-Club sets a minimum for the driver that sets a record at or over the minimum for that class.
Ah yes, I wasn't previously aware that the 200mph Club influences the FIA.
