Hey all. I've been looking at the archived content from the old website and found some images of past Speedweek programs. What's interesting to me is the artwork used. Today's programs are great and the photography is bitchin' but the artwork used in the past invokes times when Bonneville was a little wilder and was the event for the "out of the box" type thinkers. The images I have are okay and range in quality from really good to really bad. If you have any Speedweek or other program covers from other events that have great artwork, please scan them and send them to me at mike.kaehny@gmail.com. Even if they are duplicates of what I have up on the Archive page so far!
Thanks in advance!
I think the two-book set titled Bonneville National Speed Trials (produced by David Fetherston and Ron Main) includes reprints of the first 20 Bonneville programs (1949-1968).
I'm just curious ...
What do you want to do with this artwork? Are you planning to create posters, for example?
I respectfully suggest that you might want to consider existing laws relating to intellectual property
(such as copyright).
This does not mean that you will necessarily absolutely be forbidden from using existing artwork.

My intent is to display them in the archive section of the website. There are examples there that were in the original website database. There is no intent to monetize them. If I were to consider doing that, I would of course reach out to the SCTA for permission. Thanks for thinking out loud!

You're quite welcome . . . (I wasn't trying to be a troublemaker).
By the way, -- speaking of intellectual property law -- , I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and would like
to contact a local attorney specializing in copyright law. I want to ask a few questions related to song lyrics,
in order to avoid writing lyrics that might tempt someone to sue me. I don't have "deep pockets". If anyone
could recommend such an attorney -- in the San Francisco Bay Area, I'd appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
