Hello, and apologies if this has already been discussed here.
Is there a good, thorough car wash, close to Bonneville, that does a great job removing salt from all places it can stick to a car (including underneath)? I have used a "magic wand" - type place (in West Wendover), but it didn't spray the underside of my car very well.
I'd prefer to just sit in my car while the system does a very thorough job.
I drive through Reno on my return trips. If Reno has a great, thorough car
wash, I'd very much appreciate learning about it. Thanks in advance.
None of the car washes do a thorough job even in Salt lake and barely touch the underside.
AutoZone sells a sprayer that rolls underneath the vehicle. Has a long wand and 5 jets on wheels that spray's directly upwards.
It does decently just hooked up to a hose but if you have your own pressure washer, you can't get any better than that.
I have this and highly recommend it.
Johnboy always took his stuff to the Blue Beacon truck wash to wash the undercarriage.

Thank you for this information. Where is the Blue Beacon truck wash? Did it do a good job?
All over the country, but SLC was the one he used... Google is your friend :cromag:
West of the International SLC Airport
is a very good drive through car wash, the clean up under the car works very well.
I used them for a long time before I went back to the Airport.
Phillips 66
coming from the west, one exit before the Airport...
there, where the most Hotels are, used by the people which having a flight the next day.
Coming home from a Winter meet, I always look for a light stream to ford -- and once or twice I've found one. In our city, San Bernardino, there's a major road that always overflows at the touch of even the smallest instance. I drive the truck and trailer up and down a couple of times and get a pretty good job. I understand that the trailer, like the roadster, finally went away a few years ago. I guess that wasn't so bad in the almost 30 years that Steve Batchlor and I used it.
Sometimes the kids from one of the local schools will have a fund rising event in conjunction with the West Wendover Fire Service, where thay will wash your junk at the Fire Station :-)

I did that one (and tipped them quite generously). But their sprayer had limited
access to the undercarriage.

Thank you. I'll google it.
I used my Pro Elite undercarriage washer for the 2nd time and a screw to the jet came out.
No warranty. Lame.
I picked up another but I think I'll take it back cause Home Depot has one made by Westinghouse that looks better and priced better.
Ryobi makes one also. It's called a undercarriage washer or water broom.
Turn it upside down and wash the driveway off.
Bonus.
It looks like Wild Wild Wash -- in south Reno -- can do a good undercarriage
rinse. Their website appears to offer this. Has anybody here had a vehicle
washed there ... specifically to remove Bonneville salt?
