Speedweek pre-entries have been posted by the SCTA. I've posted a pdf copy here as well.
I noticed that the 285 car that burned at SW in 2024 has entered. Nice to see the McAllister's back!
Thanks Mark.
I see a Liner I have been waiting to see for years is listed.
Doug Herbert, AA/BFS Car number 888, Named The Beast. I wish Doug all the Best at Bonneville.
If anyone has a pre-entry for sale, I need one!
Thanks for posting!

I wonder if it's the monster that ran 25 years ago, or one that Doug built more recently?
aircap,
I don't think so, but I don't know. His Dad Chet called his vehicles the Beast as I recall. So I like that Doug's car name is the same as his Dad's vehicles. JMO. Reason I say vehicles is Chet ran a motorcycle and cars with the same name with which number Beast they were.
Hopefully we will find out soon!
There's an article about it in the latest edition of the SCTA Racing News.
Thanks Mark, I have not seen that issue. So is Doug going to run the new car? Or?
Thanks for any information.

I haven't seen the issue either. I do know that there is an article in it about the Beast!

Thank you PorkPie. Much appreciated. I hope they show up and have a good outing.
Update on the Herbert Streamliner from 29th July...this sounds a little bit different....
attachment is part of an article from the NHRA...
Would be great were someone at Bonneville to take and post photos of the car.
Tim
Thank you PorkPie,
I hope they show up. I guess we will know tomorrow or later in the week.
Thanks again for the post.

Am I the only dummy that thinks this car has unsafe aero on an imperfect course? Front will dig, rear will lift.
Quote from: bubruins on August 01, 2026, 08:01:41 AMAm I the only dummy that thinks this car has unsafe aero on an imperfect course? Front will dig, rear will lift.
When I think about "rear will lift", I imagine loss of traction, possibly leading to the rear being pushed
sideways, leading to a rollover (or a bunch of rolling over -- not what we want to happen).
I wonder what "Front will dig" means. Since land speed racing differs from water speed racing, would you please
clarify for us how the digging could happen? Thanks in advance.
What I mean is it appears to me that the aerodynamic force downwards on the front front axle and cantilever action up on the rear axle will turn it into a 300mph plow on the thin salt crust. Maybe it'll be masked by excess ballast or suspension setup but I guess my point is why start with this design? A well built car with similar design had a terrible accident not long ago. And its just like... cool let's ignore that because it looked good on the back of a napkin and better in CAD?
as the live stream starts not before noon, I don't know if the JCB run before...
if not was this the start of the maiden run of the new streamliner....
They ran after streaming started.
Early turnout.
Sure wish Slim was on mic.
Your pal with a washing machine,
Sam
Andy Green driving?
Large attachments, that guy.

Sam, since you got a 3D printer, washing machines are safe at your place... :friday :friday :friday
...this is a insider joke...just in case...
I don't think this was a earlier turnout due to an issue...
Andy drove the last time at the salt 20 years ago...the Dieselmax was 2006...
so he maybe has also to make some license run...and to go all five miles with low speed...
they picked enough data's on that short run for the next tuning...
live stream...Speedweek...Sunday 02 August 2026...1.41 PM...Busy
Am i the only one that misses Slim? Just not the same without him. Hope he and Nancy are enjoying their retirement, but, MAN. I sure wish he was back.
3rd day...back on live stream...missing the salt...
and missing Seldom Seen...maybe better...Seldom Heard...voice...
...we are lucky...it could be 2027....

Is there a chance that you could post a picture of your streamliner so people can get an idea of how one should be built?
Haven't seen anything on the bockscar yet.
Did they make it to Speedweek?
good news about Red Stauffer

They made a Licensing pass on Saturday. I don't know if they ran today.

PorkPie, Thanks for the update on Red Stauffer.
even better news about Red Stauffer  from last night
I'm always glad to read good news like this. Thank you for sharing it.
big improvement for Red Stauffer...note is a couple hours old...
This is good news.
So did the doug Herbert streamliner ever show up ?
Also I saw Salt Shark at the line, what speed did it run ?
The Herbert 'Liner was only there for technical inspection.
Salt Shark had some type of issues they were unable to overcome.
...another step for Red Stauffer's recovery in the right direction...
