Hey all!
I had a member contact me today about their ranking/title on the Forum. Although they have been a member for a long time ( since 2008 ) they are still ranked as "New Folks". The Forum titles are set up to acknowledge your activity and not your tenure or join date. Not my rules man. What I can do though, is change what the titles are and what the parameters are for advancement.
What's your thoughts? To me, it's not a hang up. You contribute or you don't.
If you have opinions, let's hear 'em!
Regards, Mike
I think that something like "new" should be defined by the website, in order to accurately depict someone
regarding whether they are a "new" member. But emotionally, this depiction -- to me -- is not a huge issue.
Mike, I think just because someone doesn't post a reply to every thread they read it shouldn't keep them a newbie. We have a lot of silent partners out there...
Is it possible to add a time, say a year, as an "or" to the post count criteria to move a member from new to regular
But I think everyone member should be required to post an introduction before they can move from the new member category
Mike,
I like the idea Stainless has about putting the year the person joined on their avatar if that is possible.
Then no one can call them a newbie after some time has passed, even if it says so.
Newbie would be the nicest thing that I have been called on this site.
And anyone with less than 4,521 posts is not only a newbie??? He is a wanker as well... :friday
