Title: fastest 750 pushrod motorcycle
Post by: WEAL on September 21, 2026, 11:15:50 AM
Hello folks
tried the search but did not get a proper result.Maybe you could help - I am looking for the record speed of 750cc pushrod motorcycle. Class would be unfaired, no blower or racegas. Interested in blown, fuel, fairing as well. In the years when I was there there was a Guzzi running and I seem to remember it managed around 125mph...

You did not say which venue you need the record from - Speedweek, BMST, East Coast, etc. There will be lots of records for 750cc pushrod in different classes. For instance the BMST record for Production pushrod is 129.649. It will be different for the other venues in different classes besides production.

For SCTA the Special Construction PF record is 170.02 on using a Triumph. The Modified PF record is 138.491 on a Moto Guzzi. When you look at the Partially streamlined classes, the APS-PF is at 172.315 with the same Triumph. Again, same Moto Guzzi for the MPS-PF class where the record is at 154.293.

Thanks for your help. I had an argument with a buddy. We were looking for the world record speed in Bonneville of 750 pushrod gas motorcycle without a fairing but special built frame, probably longer wheelbase. The timeframe would have been around 2016. Would a bike like that need a run on the long course?- I guess up to 200mph is fairly doable within 2 miles of the salt flats.

There is no real "World Record" at Bonneville. SCTA is regional, BMST is AMA (American Motorcycle Assn). But you can run a M/C at Bonneville under FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) rules and get the closest thing to a world record.

I know about the FIM thing as I had the FIM licence every year when I run Max' streamliner. So what was the fastest FIM speed of a unfaired, modified frame bike running on gas in 2016 in the 750 pushrod class?

Well the fastest is the fastest... making it the fastest in the world, no matter the venue
Hartmut, I don't think any open 750's are near the 200 mark

So as far as I know from my time in Bonneville the short course is for up to 200mph and the long course only available to those that will be over 200. Finally: what was fastest 750 unfaired in 2016?
My buddy says it was 150 mph with gas and pushrod, unfaired. I cannot believe that a bike running on gas would have so much power to push cycle and rider up to that speed. I know that the 1000cc Vincent of Steve Hamel had 100 hp on gas and got him to 151 mph..
