If your watch You Tube and Steve Lehto, LethosLaw, you can see that Utah has allowed Wildlife/Park Officers to ticket highway travelers. The have NO devices in their vehicles to record your speed other than pacing so it?s your word against theirs
I would advise all of you with dash cams to make recording your speed to activate if it is not now to prove your speed in court or you choose to show the officer if you want. If you don?t have a dash cam you should anyway. Apparently Utah has outlawed a quota but not performance directives to write a citation every 23 hours.
Everyone traveling from out of state might be fresh meat to them. We all know about the road from the highway to the salt but now the entire state might be a paycheck to them?.Good luck.

Not like the good ol' days when Kepner, Freud, and company had the rental car races on the way to Wendover from SLC now is it?

Ahh, I remember Freud reminiscing about how the rental cars always overheated after 10 or so miles being driven full speed in reverse coming from Salt Lake.

Yeah -- the 318.  It seems like it's the only revenue source for Hiko.  You can go thru the little town slowly and go a few miles out in nowhere and they haven't changed the speed limit and bang, they got you.

I prefer the 93 and always take a few stops along the way.  Like the Cathedral Gorge State Park, the northern entrance, for a 1/2 mile to see the mini-Colorado Gorge.  And always, the Pioche cutoff and a drink at the old hotel and the ore car trolley going way down to the valley.  Plus the exciting merge across the oncoming traffic at the 93.  Yes, either of these add less than 10 minutes to the trip.
