I find it strange that the truck classes start @ 1946 why 1946 , when cars and motorcycles go way farther back than that?

As a Racer in the truck classes I'd be interested to know this as well, I always wondered if it was a Post War / vehicle production thing?

I'm sure it had to do with WW2.
Production of privately owned pickup trucks was halted at the beginning of the war and the manufacturers built heavy duty trucks for the war effort.

I?m glad I brought this up. Might need to do a class change to include older trucks. I would like to see the modified class to include trucks from the 30?s.

If this query does end in a a rule book change, I'd gladly give up my roadster aspirations and switch a 37 Chevy pickup I have in the wings!

maybe they were trying to keep roadster pickups from competing in the pickup class....
Submit a rule change.... maybe they will widen the possibilities....

99% of the trucks prior to WWII were "car" based. After the war they became their own identity with different frames and suspensions.
