Roll Bar Padding

I have SFI 35.1 padding on my roll bar.  Is it acceptable to cover the padding with a flame-retardant tape like Polyken 268FR?

Rollbar padding is SFI 45.1,or 45.2. You can cover with tape, but be prepared to prove what the padding is. Have a picture of the padding or a piece to show at inspection.

I've covered mine with Nomex and never been questioned. I do carry a piece of the padding which I did cut so an inspect can feel the density of both and also the Nomex cloth in case and inspector wants to set it on fire, none has.
If you have someone to sew the covers perhaps the cover could be velcroed on the padding.
