I'm looking for some 2.47 gears for an 8.8 Ford. My understanding is that they were available in F-150s and Mustangs in the 80's. It looks like all the aftermarket starts at 3.08 or lower. Nobody wants airplane gears.

Jason, tell us a little about yourself... what are you building that require 2.47 gears

Robert, sure thing. I'm an old jack of all trades guy that loves all kinds of motorsports. My teenage son and I are resurrecting/restoring/resto-modding a 70' Plymouth Duster. We're using a ZF 8HP70 transmission. It currently has an 8.8 open differential with 3.08s in it, but I'd like to get higher to take advantage of the low geared transmission. It'll still have plenty of low end grunt, but it'll give it better cruising speed and fuel mileage. I've lurked around here for years, so I figured I'd post up and see if any folks here might have an old set of OEM gears laying around.

Lincoln used them more than the F-150's.... Try Gevro's rears and Gears in New York.. It took me a while to fine 3.74's for the 8.8 i put in my 56 Ford.
