It's almost like a death in the family.

We can't find words to say that make it any better.

Thanks for EVERYTHING.

Sorry to hear of your decision but I understand fully the choice made.

I really enjoyed chatting with you and a few others out at the shoot out a couple years ago, and was looking forward to seeing the new bike run some good times after all the time and effort invested in the build recently.

Max, thank you and your wifes hospitality when I got to visit last spring.  I'm glad to see the liner remains intact...it is a mighty fine testament to the years of discovery and inspiration you shared with all of us.  Much better this way, I think.

Best regards,

Many years later I still feel the need to add some information why the Liner did not live up to the expectations. It was a simple fault, Max fitted the ignition but accidently switched the two (black) wires of stator. When telefoning a couple weeks later he confirmed my diagnosis. Thus the cylinders fired on the lost spark of the other cylinder, this gave only 5 degr advance which lead to a lot of fuel still burning when the exhaust opened and giving the impression on the sniffers that the engine was running rich. I always denied this but was asked to put bigger return pills in to lean it out. We ran the same pills for several years and had full power so it did not make sense to me. In the end I put a strobe on the engine after the last run and confirmed the late firing. So I never found out what this thing could do.
