There is a lot of ignorance to unpack here. 1-driving 100 MPH on a surface at night you know nothing about. 2-Doing it while you have your family in the car. 3-taking an electric vehicle out on wet salt. There had to be a hold my beer and watch this comment at some point during the decision making process.
Records or parts, I didn't come all this way not to break something.

Yep the strip miners and the Bungling Land Masters keep that public salt flat viewing area pristine... with thick salt so the public doesn't have a clue what is going on beyond the dike.
Like they say... ya can't fix stupid... although Darwin will try...  :dhorse:

Almost asking the public to give it a safe try during the day.

wow , no mention that it was possibly not a safe thing to do ,   I guess they're victims ,

I'm concerned that idiots that aren't even in the (generally knowledgeable and relatively safe) racing community will screw things
up for everyone.  Like folks that moved into a place near a drag strip, then complained about the noise, leading to the closure
of the drag strip.

Stan Back

Not to worry.

The people that will (and have) screwed things up for us for years are unfortunately in the safety of their government offices just taking care of the situations.
