Elon Musk just debuted his new Roadster. Very impressive. I am sure it would be fun to drive.

Don't want to argue anything on this forum, but to offer a different perspective...
Maybe the "culture" could be the issue?

PENANCE  It's a bummer that due to the "culture", a person MAY have to perform penance
to participate in an elective activity.

I will revert back to my first post...
It's club racing.

Gowing   I am going to disagree  Matt unfortunately apparently didn't have a mentor or didn't take him serious like my son didn't when I tried to explain the rules and the "culture"  they go together and ultimately the end results is a fairly safe event---

But bottom line is you darn well BETTER know how to control your self and your car or bike you have to work right and you have to have put together systems and back ups so you KNOW what the HLLL is going on at all times---or you get to TRY TO do it over ONLY TIME AND PENANCE WILL TAKE CARE OF FAILURE ON the 2nd ATTEMPT

Build Diaries / Re: UK Lakester build G/GL
Last post by Lemming Motors - October 14, 2026, 06:05:53 PM
I am planning for SW 2027 - apart from finishing the Lakester  :dhorse:  the logistics from New Zealand for shipping and paperwork for DoT, EPA, Customs (temporary importation, fees and etc.) are going to keep me busy.

I am thinking of booking accommodation as soon as possible to start ticking things off. Should I wait a bit to see if things open up or are the casinos etc. saying nothing available because they are fully booked, or their pricing is not yet released.

Does anyone know if the 2027 SW dates are nailed down yet?
Entry forms and info say coming soon on the SCTA/BNI site, but I note the following there also: Event Date: July 31st - August 6th, 2027. Inspection Opens: July 29th at 9:00 a.m.

There are are several generators made now that that run on gas or propane fuels with a flip of a switch. That might be your best buy.

The "propane" part sounds good.  I'm thinking of a scenario in which nobody would be
around to flip a switch.

Here is a link to a tri fuel unit that you can see how it works. There are other units that are for homes that have transfer switches if that is what you mean when you say nobody would be around to flip a switch. This type of unit would be for when you were around and the power went out.

So do you want one to automatically come on when the power goes out? If so I would go to a natural gas unit or a propane unit if you are out in the country and have no natural gas. Those kind of home units can get pricy but are all automatic if the power goes out and you are gone, they have a transfer switch that turns the generator on and transfers the power from the generator to your house, so your refrigerator, AC, and everything else will still work.
