Bill sent a copy of his latest interview that'll be published in the Bonneville Racing News.  I don't have the date of the issue but assume it's the one that'll be arriving in the mailbox any day now.

It's a few pages longer than his others have been -- and it covers just "Part 1" of Ron Main's story.  It's a great read - from Ron's start as (he calls it) a juvenile delinquent) - from which you sometimes have to wonder if he ever outgrew, but that's another story  .  There's mostly, in this article, lots and lots of technical information on he and his team's development of the flathead engine.  There are photos, too -- even one of Ron at age four or so.  No, his hair wasn't all combed and slicked down like he favors these days.

Keep your eyes open for the latest BRN.  I hope that Bill will grant permission to put the article in the landracing.com archives - but that won't be 'til it's been in the public eye (BRN) for a while.  Get the News now.

I always enjoy reading Bill's interviews. Maybe the best thing about the BRN.

In the same issue Bill also is doing an article on Al Teague. Did he send you that article also? I feel that article should also be put into landracing.com archives. Al is one of my Hero's.

I think Bill's stuff is copy right protected, need his permission to use.

Our copy of the BRN arrived in the mailbox today - haven't even opened it yet.  I do see the Al Teague mention on the front as well as other things, of course.  In the past Bill H. has offered the rights to put his articles on this website - usually after so many months or whatever of the original publication.  I'll make sure I ask for the permission to do so for both of these articles.  Thanks for the reminder.

I am sorry to include this note in the topic about Bill Hoddinott and Al Teague and Ron Main, but there's also a story in the new BRN penned by - ready for this? - - the one, the only - Franklin Ratliff!! :-o :x :-P

I'll make sure he's still banned from the site, and if any of you see a post that looks like it came from his keyboard - let me or one of the other moderators know so we can deal appropriately with it.  Sure, it'll mean that he'll take more potshots at us, but then -- ah, never mind.  I've got other stuff that's more important to worry about (like do I need to mow the grass tomorrow or can it wait 'til Sunday?).

A negative comment from Ratliff is actually an endorsement.

I received mine yesterday. Happy to see parts 2 AND 3 of the Teague interview. That's as far as I got before bedtime.  :-D Wayno

As soon as I heard about FR's story it reminded me of a car wreck. I don't want to look. But I just can't help myself.

Jon, you hurt the propsters feelings, he is all teary eyed

Gee, I'm sorry to hear that, Glen.  I guess I missed something - but then, I guess it isn't all that bad to miss his emissions.
