So I have not seen any updates or advise for new racers and spectators from Lynda this year, she usually has some nuggets by now, hope she's doing well.
No regrets

Sorry Guys, I've obviously been negligent in my duties!!     Okay, here are the tips for this year:

BRING YOUR PIN THAT CAME IN YOUR TUBE!!!!!!!!  If you forget your pin, you'll be buying a new one from me!!!!
Remember, I create the extra lanes at Land's End so that you can get through faster.  I'll have someone out on "Point" to pull you out of line and get you through the gate faster on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.  Unless my Gate Person pulls you out of line DO NOT come barreling up the exit.
Saturday morning is a nightmare for all of us..you're trying to get to the driver's meeting at the same time spectators are trying to buy their passes and get out on the salt.  Don't wait until the last minute to head out, you know what time the meeting is and how congested the entrance is...LEAVE EARLY!!!!
Speed Limit through the Gate is 10 mph...I get really hostile when my Gate people are put in danger from somebody trying to speed through there!
DO NOT JUMP THE LINE!!  I have no problem stepping out in front of your vehicle to stop you and I'll make you wait.
Everyone is important and you all have the same goals....to race!  MY GOAL is to get you out on the salt SAFELY so that you can chase your dream.
If you are going to be out early in the week, unless you are on the Worker's List, NO YOU CANNOT go out and set up your pit!!!! So, don't ask!!!  The answer is NO!
If you know you need more pins than the 4 you get after going through tech, come buy them early, it saves you time.  Also, if you haven't made it through Tech Saturday morning, don't worry about stopping and explaining.  There are a lot of racers that will be waiting and won't have their passes.  I'll let you go, especially if it's crunch time for the driver's meeting!
If you have crew members that will be arriving late you can leave their passes with me at Land's End and I'll give the passes to them when they come through.  Put the passes in an envelope with your name, car/bike number and their name/s.  Make sure they know to ask at the gate.
If you want to park your car and get a ride out, I will have a parking area blocked off for your convenience.  If you need to hitch a ride, we'll find one for you!
Remember.....we are ALL out there for the same reason...SALT ADDICTION... so please be patient, don't let the sight of the salt make you go brain dead, you've been waiting a long time to get there, don't jeopardize your dream or someone else's dream by road rage!
and lastly.....
Don't follow the officers (green stickers) up the exit lane...they get to go out before anyone else in the morning, without them the salt doesn't open!!!
Okay, any questions?  Ask away!!!

Good luck everyone....Stay Safe, Stay Upright...Go FAST!!

To all -

I know we get busy during Speedweek, but the highlight for me last year was spending almost an hour at Lands End on Thursday, just chillin' with Linda while waiting for my two Aussie friends to finish up their journalistic duties.

Linda - you're the Belle of the Ball, and we are fortunate and grateful to have you as the gate keeper to the hallowed ground.

To you, dear . . .

Aw, shucks guys!   (blush, blush)  thanks!!

Hmmm something for my crew?  Okay, ummmm.... Pepsi or Dr. Pepper or chocolate or ice or....ah ha!!! How about a smilin' face and telling them they're doing a good job?!!  My crew is AWESOME!! They suffer through all that heat with the added exhaust coming off all those HOT tailpipes!!  They don't get much of an opportunity to go out to the pit area, so when they do get a chance, tell 'em howdy!!!  They'll love it and I'll appreciate it no end!!!

Safe journey everyone!!  Oh, did I mention.........IT'S CRUNCH TIME!!!  GET OFFA THE COMPUTER AND FINISH THAT BUILD!!!!!

  Linda,
How about something from Montana Silversmiths for you to raffle off or bribe your end of the road crew with?

It seems that the Meet is Official when Lovely Lynda speaks.

She learned from some great teachers and now she adds her wisdom to her crew.

We are blessed to have Lynda grant us access to the Hallowed Ground.

Doug.....the answer to that would be.....no! Love the jewelry, but the answer is still......NO!   :-D
You're right, it is the best car/bike show in the world!! So, the answer to that question is....yes, you can go out Friday....you can even go out Thursday if you want to!   :-D

Thursday and Friday are free entry for spectators.  There is no racing going on, just Pit setup and Tech.  You can still buy your week passes which helps cut the congestion on Saturday.  Day Passes will only be available for that day and a new will have to be purchased the next day.  If you are going to be there 3 days or longer, just buy the week pass to begin with.  There are NO REFUNDS for Day Passes!!!  But they ARE good for the entire day even if you leave for awhile, as long as the races are still going we'll let you back out on the salt.

The Salt Talks are a great thing, but it's just another in the long list of things going on.

When we talk about Lynda we know that the first glimpse not only means a smiling face, but the real start of things. Records happen just past Lynda.
Well, it used to be Los Angeles . . . 50 miles north of Fresno now.
Just remember . . . It isn't life or death.
It's bigger than life or death! It's RACING.
