Frank Townsend

[manta22]

Frank Townsend passed away Friday evening. He was the former owner of Townsend's Racing Works in Tucson and was well known in AZ racing circles. Townsend and a group of friends built and raced a series of sports cars known as "Typhoon" very successfully against Ferraris, Maseratis, etc. He had been in poor health the last few years so his passing was not unexpected.

Every time I saw Frank he always asked me "Hey, when are you going to get that high-dollar motor fired up?" He will be missed, especially by the Tucson car guys.
