Thanks Mike... Ran yesterday and it went past 10K, then died, then picked back up again.... I'm thinking this is an over-boost or exceeded some number in the program. So I think the 4 new coils and wires as well as new sync and ref sensors cleared my miss.  I'm thinking it was the coils and or wires.... looking at the program to see what I did....

My big loss of boost looked like the control dumped the pressure on the top of the wastegate causing it to fall back to spring, but at that RPM it didn't recover before it consumed all the air in the hat basically taking it to vacuum.  I switched some of the program parameters and changed to open loop boost control... that's the one that you tell the program what duty cycle you want it to run, not how much boost you want.... it is a little like starting over but I took a guess at where to start and it worked... good guess, so now I need to set up a gradual increase table so we don't get too much boost too early.  I'll run that test on the dyno later today... Kinda nice to have a dyno in the shop... oh wait, it's not a dyno, it's a Roth IRA....
Why later, I'm still working on the oil return for the turbo oil pressure regulator... I started by dropping it in the breather, but the hole back to the motor is not big enough, so it filled up and spit oil into the air cleaner.  So I found a spot in the valve cover that will let it drain back in the cam chain area.  Of course Suzuki didn't add lots of extra space in the valve cover, but I found enough for a fitting between the spark plug and the cam chain box.  Yes the longer engine bay I put in the new Bockscar has filled up.
Another bonus, my new Autopower seatbelts arrived, Rick and Brad did a great job, very racer friendly... oh I know why, they are racers  8-)

We have data, we have a motor that stayed together with 34lbs of boost... and there is more pressure available since we are  under 50% duty cycle on the boost controller.
The car is going back together, the entry is in, now all we need is a track to see if it will go faster than 231+ MPH, our qualifying speed last year against our H/BGL record.
Oh, and do that twice this time.  :?

Congratulations and all the best to the team in your runs this year!!!
I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Thanks Tom, I guess we will see how the Great White Dyno sorts it out...

I forgot to mention my son Rob was in helping for a week, that's why we're put away and mostly ready to run.  While he was here, we fitted him in the new belts and new Helmet since he is driving again this SpeedWeek. So the Liner is in the shop getting the floor structure designed and installed.

Looks like we are still working on picture attachments  :cromag:

Well SpeedWeek failed to go as planned.... again....
Our shakedown run revealed a couple of issues including failure for the chute to deploy... a safety issue in my opinion.
The motor was running well, the track was rough for the first 2.5 miles then started to smooth out... we started on course 2 because the rumor was it was a little smoother than course 1... and the line was shorter. We drove both courses, both were rough and smoothed by the 3.  Unfortunately you really need the traction to make speed in the first 2 1/4. Rob was having trouble keeping his head from bouncing on the cage and blurring his vision.  For the next run we let the cheek straps out 1/4 inch to let him sit a little lower making it easier to keep his head off the cage.  But the next run is another story...

I'd like to say the second run at SW 2026 went well... and it did till just before the 3.  The remarkable thing is he missed the 3... the course was bumpy and a bit slick in the afternoon but the lower position in the car helped with vision... oh, and the chute worked like it was supposed to

And then we get to run 3... moved to course 1 hoping for a smoother front track... not really but we didn't really get far enough to tell.  Bit of a bang in second gear and the car stopped moving under its own power.
The chain was making a hell of a racket though... I found it extremely loose... Investigation revealed a parting line that didn't belong... after sprocket removal I knew why the chain went slack...

For all y'all that think I'm just sitting around eating Bon Bons between races I will assure you I don't have any Bon Bons.... We are working toward racing at the World of Speed... and with any luck someone will clarify the race and inspection dates... usually the dates listed are the race dates, but now I'm seeing mixed signals... this is unusual for the USFRA.  We are registered and will be there...
So the H motor took a little poop on itself... I had a stern conversation with the motor builder... Never saw one break there... Yes I think all racers talk to themselves...  but the motor is getting put back together in new cases... OK not new, but way better used cases.  The HD output shaft survived, but the remainder of the tranny is in the pile.  By the looks of things, this must have started before the last run and was buried deep enough that it was not noticed.  The ends of some of the gears are shaved and have odd wear patterns. Of course this motor is built to accommodate bike and rider, we add an additional 2 bikes and riders to the mix... and a little more aero load.
Motor and tranny going back together

JAL AKA JL222

Don't you think the rough track caused it?

Well the track certainly contributed to out issue on run 2 and possibly the tranny failure.
