I know I'm getting way out front on this, plus covid may yet have something to say about the schedule, but... I see the SCTA shows the first event of next year as being on May 1,2. Anyone know how hard and fast this date is? Typically we see 3 weeks between the first 2 events of the year (and between the last 2 as well). Having the May event so early, what does this imply for the June event. I ask this because I come out from Virginia, and coming out for 3+ weeks is one thing, coming out for 5+ is a bit much.

I believe with the world as it is now, it's impossible to predict anything firm for next year.  And, personally at my age, it's hard to predict firm.

Under normal circumstances when the dates are set it because it is set with the BLM and insurance. If for some reason COVID-19 and the state of California, weather, etc and the meet is canceled it will not be replaced. There are volunteer clubs that may or may not be able to respond at the drop of a hat and need ample notice of a new date. If the May date is cancelled, the scheduled date in June will be the first meet.
I am not on the board of directors or hold any office with the SCTA; I am only speaking of what is the normal workings of the organization. With that said the current officers may still choose to differ as these are not normal times.

scta-bni.org had live chatty video on Instagram by a ?young? lady [Holly I think I heard) as @sctabniofficial.  I'm watching it at this moment.

She's interviewed a number of people including Hot Rot Mag's Dave Freiburger (?sp).

She said there was a 20 mph tailwind.

Did 1 run about 10:00 AM Saturday.
Course was very stable and flat. Very little dust in the air considering the wind.
Nice tail wind.
Temperature was not too bad. Heated up later on.

QuoteDid it! Got in my sixth and most difficult and important 200 MPH Club here at El Mirage Dry Lake in SoCal. This is hot rodding?s oldest hallowed ground, and it?s the record that means the most to me and the one Ive worked for the longest. I went 208.791 mph to smash a C/Blown Gas Coupe record of 200.681 that was set by Andy Granatelli in 1984. @keithturk200, @tonyaturk462 and I have been after this for a long, long time. It was a bit of a struggle yesterday, but we were able to run as the last car of the day today and made it happen! It was an emotional and important ceremony here on the dirt when I got my hat. This only happens with a large crew of friends, and I have to thank Keith (who did 90% of the work this time) and Tonya along with Ed and Linda Van Scoy who are our two-decade support system. Thanks to @el_wero_tuned and @troygoldie for a late night tuning this week, and to @dynobrule for the 25 years of mentorship. I am proud to have assembled the engine myself with machine work by @dougansracingengines. 1,000 rwhp from 347ci is thanks to @prochargersuperchargers @afr_heads @compcamsofficial @jepistons @cometicgasket @holleyperformance. We also had help from @ridetechsuspension and @baer_brakes. Huge thanks to all the board and volunteers of @sctabniofficial for all the guidance and courtesy throughout the event. This was like a homecoming. Awesome!

I know Turk made the 2 club at Muroc in the Camaro but David Frieburger?

Edit: I just noticed that Pix is the C pillar of the Camaro, so that is the Car's pedigree.
