Motorcycle Boots Question

Running speedweek this year.  The rule book states "boots shall be at least 8 Inches high"   Mine measure 9.5 inches from the bottom of the sole to the top of the boot.  Anyone know if the 8 inches is the total height of the boot or is it from the top of the foot up the leg?  I may be overthinking this but just want to make sure.  Thanks again

Damn, guess i should answer the question.  8 inches from bottom of sole to to top of boot.  Im at 10 inches so im good.  Obviously the sleeker the boot the better
