Even tho Pat never raced in LSR he was a friend to any who did.
He lost his life in the Ike Iacano dragster he so painfully restored to it 50s configuration. It happened at Riverview Raceway in Toutle. Washington on Friday the 19th in the afternoon.
If you are on the HAMB there is much written about him and the automotive fraternity. You can also read without being a member.
He will be missed by anyone who ever read one of his articles or coverage of an event.
He had been the editor at one time of: Hot Rod, Street Rodder, Rod and Custon and the Rodders Journal.
He published many automotive books. He was also a member of the Dry Lakes Hall of Fame.
He was my friend and I will miss him.
First GMC 6 powered Fuel roadster over 200, with 2 red hats. Pit crew for Patrick Tone's Super Stock #49 Camaro

I never meet Mr. Ganahl but followed his blog and loved it.  He was an excellent journalist and historian and did much to preserve hot rod history.
God speed Pat Ganahl
