It would be nice if after 2 days SCTA got around to posting some results.

This is just a guess . . .

Putting on Speed Week is a huge task.  Reporting the results is less urgent.

I'm also guessing that they'd appreciate your volunteering to help them with this.

In the past results were posted at least by the next day.  This is more true now that we can't really hear any results.

To help with the posting you would have to know the results!

We have to be patient, I think.

My memory of the last few years is that results for the first couple of days are not posted immediately.  Probably because the weekend is busy and there is a lot for the volunteers to catch up on.  When things calm down, results for one day may be posted late that day or early the following morning.

An observation from afar is that getting information to the outside world is not a priority for the SCTA (nor for USFRA for that matter).  Bloodhound SSC had very ambitious plans for sharing their run data but first you have to run!

[None of this should be construed as criticism of the SCTA.]

The operation of the event is extremely demanding.  The staff works from first light until early evening.  After the last run of the day there are batteries to be charged, equipment repairs and some debrief to be done.  The competitors know what they accomplished.   SCTA does an excellent job staffing and coordinating the event.  The results can come after the dust settles.

I feel this is where SCTA is falling behind.   The world has changed and people want things sooner than later.  Amazon Prime, smart phones, loss of magazines, and Video On Demand are just some examples of this trend.   Adding automation to a system reduces the demands on the worker (See above examples)

[This SHOULD be construed as criticism of the SCTA.]

IF you don't think the results are posted fast enough, you can volunteer to get them up faster.

I have volunteered multiple emails but no response earlier this year.   But I do live on the east coast so not in the local click of  leaders.

I think you might need a different argument.
Slim is there right now and DID volunteer to help... he was denied.

I'd think that if all of the different racing organizations (Nascar, NHRA, USAC,) can post instant lap times,
run times, reaction times, ect...
That's proof that it can be done.

I was at the Lands End Hillclimb in Colorado yesterday  (Third oldest race in the country after Indy and Pikes Peak),
Even with their limited resources,  The Run times were posted very quickly.
That's more proof that it can be done.

Day one results are up on the SCTA web site.

Can someone tell me what is the correct time limit you have at Bonneville to get to impound after you have qualified for a record run? I thought it was an hour, but I could be wrong? Anyone know for sure?

Thanks,

Tom G.
I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

The rational person lets verified facts form or modify his opinion.  The ideologue ignores verified facts which don't fit his preconceived opinions.

I cannot confirm by rule book chapter and verse, but I'm confident that the time limit is 1 hour from the time listed on the printed timing tag.

That's what i thought, but did that change from yesterday? One hour seems right.
