Planning to attend El Mirage as a spectator for 1st time on weekend of 9-10 Nov 24, along with 4 other guys.  Live about 2 hours away & thinking of making a one day trip.  Recommendation for which day, Sat or Sun, would be best to attend?  Arrival time?  Sounds like events sometime shut down early for wind, etc.  Any thoughts on any aspect would be appreciated.  I tried to find info online but was unable.  Could be my search skills.
Thanks

I like to be there around 6:00, gives you plenty of time to get to a spot and set up your stuff. You want to be there early because the big boys get to run first, and sometimes they break things, so you might only get one chance to see 300mph all weekend! Bring sunscreen, a lawn chair, and snacks. And watch out, that dust is going to be in the nooks and crannies of your car forever  :-D

Since wind and rain are sometimes not accurately predicted, I suggest that you plan to be available to watch for all of
both days, starting very early.  It's been years since I was there (also as a spectator).  I enjoyed listening on my car radio
the callouts of speed achieved by each run.  I also plan to be there on November 9 and 10 this year.

Thanks Fissionspeed & Tallguy.  Good info, will discuss with my guys.

You will also need to decide what side of the course you will want to be on. North side of course has the return road and the south side has the timing tower on it. You will want to go to the pits also. If you have a dirt bike there is also open riding for ohv's.
The speed that you wish to achieve is only limited by the depth of your wallet.

Thanks 29Sleeper & racefanwfo.  More good info.

The North Side you will get to watch the cars be pushed or pulled back. I like to be down by the finish line.

Dress for very cold morning. Can get into the 20s in November.
