I'm FINALLY back working on my 'liner! With that said, I'm curious about how strict Good Year is with their wheel recommendations. With the tire size I plan on running, Good Year shows a min/max 4 1/2" wheel width. Nothing like making something next to impossible to find in that size. Being tread width is 5", the most logical move is a 5" wide wheel. Anyone done anything with this? Thank you...

there are some 15" trailer rims that are 4.5" wide and they are beaded on both sides so the tires can't roll off the rims as easily.  The reason that Goodyear recommends such narrow wheel is so that centrifugal force will not suck the side wall of the sides and you lose air pressure. for that reason I chose trailer rims.  Most Goodyear race tire dealers will be aware that they are harder to make pop out when you air them up.

I am pretty sure you can find some wheel manufactures to build those wheels  or find  trailer wheels and build your own wheels

Brad, American Track Roadster made my rear wheels for LSR tires.  They are 3 piece aluminum.  They also made the 2 piece aluminum wheels that went 503 on the Turbinator.  I think he also made wheels and spindles for the new car Lee Sicilio is building.  You can reach Greg Peek (Peek Roadster 210.5 in 1970) @ 303 nine 86 nine three hundred.
He shouldn't charge you extra if you tell him I sent ya

while we are on this subject, how would a 3.5" rim affect a 4.5" tyre ?, reason i ask is that the rear wheel from a 500cc Harley Davidson is 15"x 3.5",,

Ronnie, your Harley wheel might be motorcycle bead and not automotive bead... I guess you can try it and see if it holds air
