Wheel Halves,,

Im about to get two aluminum wheel halves made to suit a Goodyear #D2954 Landspeed tire (for my motorcycle),, the Goodyear site recommends a Design Rim width (outta bead) of 4.5" for this tire,, my question to those who have had experience setting up these tire/wheels, "what Design Rim width do you suggest, a little larger or smaller ?", also, "do you recommend a safety bead section to help hold the bead from sucking in ?"
