I made a commitment to the family that I would finish Francis Van De Putte's car, it was started before the requirement that the driver's compartment be sealed and it has a street rod front suspension system with tons of scrub radius that I will take out before I try to run it. It was originally going to run nitro so has no cooling system and the Honda trans  the gear splits are not very B'ville friendly I have lots of S2000 eng parts but nothing together  lots and lots of evaluation and choices.

Sparky,

How fast do you plan on going? Goodyear makes two different frontrunners, and one Landspeed frontrunner in that size. I don't know about steel rims, but there are aluminum wheels made for those tires.

Sparky,

Most of the dragster front wheels are aluminum spindle mount. Made for those tires.

Except for motorcycle rims, I don't know of a automobile steel rim that would work.

Sorry.

Terry made some aluminum wheels for people but he retired. Give him a call maybe he can help you.

My wheels were the first and we got really bad info from GY and Weld.  I bought a 17" motorcycle wheel to get the dimensions and profile from and we aere digitally evaluating them compared to a 17" exploder steel wheel and evaluating just what we can do with an existing wheel by machining and build up welding and The easy way forward my be by buying wheel blanks from Ukraine but damm the frt is high

I will build it with a straight frt axel and just move my spindles and wheels together  that will by far be the simplest and it will be very easy to swap them back and forth between the Lakester

Sparky,

I don't know if these would work for you. but they were very popular years ago and shaved have gone pretty fast. Still made the same way today. M&H Racemaster Front Runner Tires 22x3.5-15  I believe the record for G/Fuel Roadster is around 210 mph. I personally don't see a problem using them, but would contact SCTA to make sure.

Best of luck.

On the surface this looks achievable... and with Sparky Bill doing it you can expect the unexpected.  He knows how to read the rule book.  It looks like there is a minimum wheel diameter... I know the story behind that one....

Stainless,

Thanks for the correction on the record. I was looking at G Blown Fuel Roadster, my mistake.  muutt

I don't see any problem using the M&H tires as they are for racing and use 15" rims, since the record is under 200 mph.

Am I missing something?

I will use the 17" I have already on the front and 21, 22, or 23 on the rear. I already have 15" x 4.5 rims just have to build the correct width rear axle. I am going to run my AT400/GV with out torque converter which will give me 4 speeds that I can power shift, have run it before but with much more power and torque. Honda has  less power but more RPM available  St. Francis was planning on running NITRO but I have my doubts about the S2000 combustion chamber for nitro  it is an RPM motor and I will have to go another way IMO.
