So, I see radar shows rain out there now and another 1/4" this Friday to Sat.  Anyone that can, please keep us up to date on the conditions.

Yeah, I think he's looking at Bonneville and what it might be like for the WoS event.

Yes Bonneville for WOS.  There is rain in the forecast for Fri and Sat this weekend.  We head west on Monday

The forecast for the event looks pretty good.
I show a 35% chance of rain coming this Friday. This means that there is a 65% chance that it won't.
Even if a bit of rain shows up, it's usually a go. But it is Bonneville and it can be finicky.
Keep checking in though!

It's raining a little right now on the salt. The updated forecast looks clear form tomorrow thru WOS. Hopefully that holds.

Dang, it's raining on the salt. :-(  Hopefully everything will dry out ok before Friday. The forecast shows the rain stopping today and dry thru World of Speed. Got my fingers crossed.

Sporty Dan,

If no one from USFRA posts any updates, your best bet is their website. https://saltflats.com/events-2026
They have a note on the site that says "Any official information about World of Speed will be posted here first."
They also include links to their Facebook and Instagram sites.

Here is a link for you for the camera on the saltflats.

Hope this helps you.
I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Yeah there is standing water out there per the camera out on the salt.  We have to decide tomorrow or Monday if we are coming.

Thanks Desotoman. I'll check that out for updates.

Last I heard was Dennis and Justin are going out this afternoon to evaluate. Should have a go/no-go update sometime tonight
Records or parts, I didn't come all this way not to break something.

Well the scout team went out today and were unable to find a course that would be safe by Friday. End of the road has about a foot of water so getting vehicles on and off is an issue. Course 1 is the only course that is not totally submerged but has 2-4 inches of water from the 2 to the 4.5. World of Speed is cancelled. Cheers to USFRA for calling it early and not pushing it out just to cancel or put y'all on an unsafe racing surface.

Unfortunately the end of the road has about the same amount of salt as the bend in the road these days.  So getting stuck in the mud is a real possibility... Thanks BLM for letting the strip miners rape the salt flats for the last 60 years.

In this case, water (rather than salt) is the issue.
