Reverse Required?

You see in the rules in several places that transmissions are required. In such cases is it required to have the ability to reverse?

Is reverse a practical requirement at Bville?

Fred, You are only allowed to drive your car down the race surface. You can not drive in the pits or any of the return roads. So reverse is not really needed.

Reverse is not necessary at Bonneville, El-Mirage or Maxton, nore is it required.
