Thinking back to those days -- the Patio and Dixon Bros. were ripping us off back the, just like the casinosa are today.  What I remember is paying $70 for a room that went for $14.95 other than SpeedWeek.

Of course you got the good room with the lift and the oil drain, right?

Here are a couple of photos while they were trying to get through in tech.

Stan, Dixon must have seen you coming, I think Ben Jordan paid a hundred for the week... of course 8 of us showered in there.... so he got extra towels  :-o

I see the Dixons are still around -- they run the employee/customer shuttles between the casinos.

I remember the room at the Patio in about '72.  I wasn't sure if it was a dirt foor or just that dirty.

Across the street late one night at Dixon Bros. we were working on a roadster.  A guy was coming back from the Stateline and took a shortcut across the "lawn".  It was pretty dark out except for the lights out by the doors of the rooms.  He disappeared with a large splash -- apparently his alcohol content was not high enuf to float on the swimming pool water.

I did see the TP emblem cast into the cases because I was looking for an S&S casting. I dont recall seeing any place that they widened the cases , it looked like a V4 casting but again I could be wrong
