I don't have a rule book infront of me and its driving me crazy.  I have a co-worker that has a 300zx shell (with a  cage) that was suposidly run at boneville in the 90's for a great price.  If i swapped in a 2.0 turbo motor would i qualify for g/bgc?

Can't remember if the 2+2 seating qualifys it for BGC or not.

Thanks,
Grant

It's been done before. Gorden Hoyt ran a 2+2

I filmed it flying too, upside down. Wasnt his a 240 zx 2+2 though ? Cagle gave me a $10  Stateline poker chip for a copy of the tape that I still have

I remember that car, it was real nice looking.  Didn't he call it salt thumper? Or something like that?

There was a sign above the steering wheel that said    SHIT HAPPENS.  It was his son in law driving.

Best to check with Jim Miller or Bobby Sykes to make sure. Better to check and be safe than to buy something and be disappointed, especially if something has changed over the years since it last ran.

Called the Salt Shaker II

I can't remember if he ran D/BFC or D/BFALT, The motor was set back quite a ways.
Records or parts, I didn't come all this way not to break something.

2+2's were normally considered 4 passenger vehicles and therefore eligible for production and gas coupe. Some of the earlier 240's had child jump seats added to them but were still GT vehicles by the SCTA definition. Make sure the one in question is a true adult 4 seat vehicle...Good Luck

Thanks for the quick replys and PM's guys.  I guess i still need to buy 1 or 2 2010 rule books(can't find my 09 and im going CRAZY!), and email Jim Miller or Bobby Sykes.

I'd like to get some more info on the car but all i know at the moment was it was given to my co-worker back when he raced in the scca by Nissan.  They ended up not using it due to the salt damage and having other cars to use.  Not sure who ran it or how it did, i will try to ask tomorrow.

Post a picture of it and im sure someone on this board could identify it.

How fast do you want to go?  Some short wheelbase cars can be a handful at speeds over 250, so I'm told.
