It looks like the 2011 AMA rules are yet to be posted, but seeing as its nearly April it sure would be nice to know if there are any major changes relating to the big labor stuff like bodywork or chassis.
So I am looking for any rumors or scuttlebutt relating to rule changes. Any thoughts???

Cheers,
Baron

Hi,

Did you try the AMA website:   http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/
or did you try calling them:   1-800-262-5646
or how about downloading the 2011 AMA Rule Book itself (all 170 pages):  http://www.americanmotorcyclist.com/Libraries/Racing_Documents/2011_AMA_Racing_Rules.sflb.ashx

The AMA rulebook on the AMA website is not the same thing that will be posted on the BUB website. The one we all look for is the SUPPLEMENTAL rulebook for the specific BUB race week. This also includes Run What You Brung, and other stuff unique to Bonneville. Hope they post it soon.

Yes i have looked at the AMA site many times as well as the 2011 rulebook. There is no mention of Land Speed Racing rules, as far as i can tell, so I always refer to the link from BUB's website. Maybe I am just missing it.

I didn't realize that BUB issues a supplement (extra stuff) to the AMA rules.  I'm a car guy just trying to help out, I'm bored at work today.

I wouldn't be too worried about when the 2011 rules will be out. Last year they modified the new rules for 2010 as late as 3 weeks before the meet. Again, not to worry. They only selectively enforce them. If you run the long course you definately have nothing to worry about. JME

I expect the rules will not be changed substantially. However I do want to know if they will be requiring a 2010 helmet or not.

When they changed to a M2005 requirement they were only a year ahead of SCTA. But, that's always a possibility.

The download link is now on the BUB website too. I briefly went through the rules and it looks like I can keep my 2005 helmet another year. But I am still looking for one with a taller viewing area.

I caught an error on the one published on AMA site.  that is why it was taken down so they can correct it.
