Received an email last night from a close friend of Ed's. He passed away at his shop yesterday afternoon.

Godspeed and RIP Ed.

Went to Ed's shop when I was with Bub. Ed loved his Pearl beer. We would ask directions to somewhere and how long it would take to get there. His answer was something like, "once you get on the highway, about 2 Pearls and you're there..."
When he and Jon Minonno were a team they were very impressive and very fast. Really liked that guy. Too bad to see him go...

After Jack Wilson died, Ed continued to campaign the twin engined Triumph that was built by Jack at Big D Cycle in Dallas.

The rider that we most remember on that piece was John Minonno.

Ed kept most of the crew together and was dedicated to that project.

His volume of stories will continue even after he is gone.

All of us will miss Ed.

Ed Mabry is one guy I do remember.  He was always pleasant and helpful when I was shooting the breeze - or teching his bikes.  It's through him that I got to meet Jon Minnono (or is it Minonno?), and through Ed that I got to see the twin Triumph bikes and more.  May he rest in peace.

I had the good fortune to know Ed Well. I would go by his shop and visit when I was in Dallas, I will miss the visits. What he and his team accomplished in LSR is legendary, plus he was a pioneer in chassis design and building in drag racing. He had one heck of a good run, god speed Ed Maybry.

God speed, we are losing some really big dogs in the LSR world this year already. I dealt with him on a personal project and he was really helpfull years ago.
