Can you do the "Ristretto" version?

I know risotto.......I like it when it's properlly cocked....

ristretto is Italian....but it didn't make sense...

I'm still hung up on how Voxan could accelerate to those speeds with that much power in that distance then stop: with no front brake.

The thing is not exactly quick if you look at the standing-start speeds.

(Edit: I would add that e-power *is* different in that it is zero when the motor is not spinning, then increases as a function of motor speed until it hits base speed.  Torque is typically constant until that point but max power won't be achieved until partway through a run.)

There are two partial streamlined (PS) pictures - one is with the Long Tail and the second the Short Tail - which is just the rear part of the seat with downward sides in front of the rear wheel.  My Italian and French are poor, but is the "Short Tail" variant the one they have called Ristretto? [Ristretto meaning 'short' - although often used for measures of coffee.]

Something that baffles me is that there are no records for the flying start speeds over the 1km course with the under 300kg weight bike.

The team have also missed some fairing removal or distances measured, as they could surely have taken 24 records?

The last comment on 'no front brake' would mean the bike failing technically on FIM rule 2.12.8. On the unfaired machine picture there is a visible disc which must have had a caliper too.

I missed the small disc: the original design brief called for no brake.

I just shot an email to the "info" address asking that they release on-board video to help shed some light on their claims.  Believe me, I'm a huge EV proponent but I also understand physics.  I would love to be shown my skepticism is unwarranted.

The only onboard video I could find was this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6BvhhIo0Hsk

Pretty primitive.  Wouldn't the times be effected by the thumb's reactions?

Eh?  Not sure I understand what you mean Malcolm.  The FIM list includes three flying km records for the under 300kg version (one of which they beat a couple of days later, so only two current records).

Is the listing with post #69 incomplete? Have Voxan forgotten what records they have achieved?

I think you are supposed to read paragraphs 2 and 5 to get the two current flying km records.  They don't appear to have bothered to repeat these numbers in the lists at the end.

In my not-so-humble opinion, it's a poorly-written press release/article/web page.

There appear to be many contensious points regarding their claims,,

I note that their claimed FIM Records from the 30,31 October2020 from Chateauroux-Centre "Marcel Dassault" Airport France, are yet to be FIM Ratified,,

Having myself been subjected to the FIM rigorous process, I have full faith in FIM Charlie and the board to dismiss or verify their claims  8-)

I humbly agree, but could this be explained by writing in a lamguage not often used?

FIM Charlie has retired from FIM, so this is the hands of the group he trained. There are some outstanding ratifications, even from a UK event on tarmac.

Well, yes but that was why (in the 1950's) we were trained

I was thinking Stan was more of a middle finger kind of guy...

The Wattman's GPS speedometer recorded a maximum instantaneous speed of 470.257 km/h (292.204 mph).
From 0 to 292 and back to 0 in 3 miles sounds like it would be a pretty thrilling ride.
