No, the USFRA does not do timing tags... at least they haven't in the past... You will get a certificate and a trophy.  SpeedWeek and World Finals will send tag, record certificate and trophy.

I'm not sure that USFRA actually does send anything out for new records set at WoS.  The SCTA reps at the impound trailer made it sound like USFRA didn't do trophies.  I am sure that you know more about it than I do, however.

I was hoping since SCTA was there to certify records, maybe they would at least do timing tags since I am a SCTA-BNI member.  But I understand that they are two different organizations.

So ultimately I think I just get my name in the book, and that's it.  Well that, and this nice red hat.

Every record we have set at WoS came with a trophy.... well actually usually a plaque, not a trophy like the SCTA uses... but it is a displayable piece of your history.

Bass, I contacted the timing tag guy in the book, Jerry said he only makes tags from a list sent by the SCTA.  He said it would be a board decision, way above his pay grade.
So I contacted Heather Black and asked the question, she said she would put the question on the board agenda for January.
Hopefully you already have your personalized plaque and record certificate by now

Okay, your WoS record certificates, and such are handled through USFRA.
Jerry who does the timing tags for the SCTA/BNI wouldn't have you listed anywhere to receive a timing tag since it was a USFRA meet and not an SCTA/BNI meet. In my short, ten year run with the SCTA, I don't recall timing tags issued from the SCTA/BNI for records set at USFRA meets.

As I said earlier the SCTA/BNI does not do timing tags for USFRA event records.  But I did contact Heather and she is going to ask the board if they will authorize the sale of timing tags to USFRA record setters at the WoS since those records are certified by SCTA/BNI inspectors.  If they OK it,  I'll order one for Ross to go with his certificate and plaque.
But we won't have an answer till after the January board meeting.

That seems like a good solution.  I'd agree -- that's an SCTA record.  Might even make up a small income source for SCTA.  I can't see them do it gratis as it was not their meet.

I would gladly pay a fee to have an official timing tag for the record I set at World of Speed.  I understand that it was a USFRA meet, but...and this is just an opinion.. it seems like it would be pretty easy for the SCTA to offer timing tags for records set there. 

For example, driver contacts SCTA, SCTA confirms that record was set (since they do certify all WoS records), then SCTA collects fee and sends notification to Jerry to make a tag and ship it out.  I would imagine there would only be a handful of us every year that run into this anyway.

Thank you again Stainless for getting the ball rolling on this.  I'll wait to hear what they say after the meeting.
