Well, what's the damage? Heard the lake bed is closed due to a thunderstorm dumping quite a bit of moisture. Tiny? Anybody?

There is a post on the land speed racing page on FB that says .28" is on the lake bed.
Get off the stove Grandad.  You're too old to be riding the range.

This e-mail from George Calaway, Mayor of El Mirage just poped up this morning.........


"I was out on the lake yesterday, Had to pull Ed Fenn out who was stuck over on Lake Road. There was standing water along the north shoreline & Ed (before he got stuck) said that the east end was flooded. I would say that Course Prep is probably off for Saturday morning, I was in hopes that Lonnie would come up early today & my the call. Peggy of "The Friends" made the call to close the lake yesterday, as usual there were NO BLM out here.  As far as the Oct meet, my suggestion is to CHECK the SCTA Website before coming out next weekend"                                                                                                                                      George

Posted on the SCTA site.  A decision will be taken next Thursday as to whether or not the meet will be run.  Course prep for this Sat. is cancelled.

soooo...... how we lookin'?  heard through the 'vine that we're more than likely going to have a meet.  is the east end dry or nearly dry yet?

I heard thru "the vine" that the lake bed is supposed to be open to the public TODAY???? :cheers:

Just got the official word via Miriam Macmillan, El Mirage lakebed is open and we will be racing this weekend. Still a wet spot at Bella Vista so we will be rerouted up to Coulsa Rd to enter and exit. Cones and signs will mark the problems spots.
