I've got the roll hoop cover fitted to the top of the engine cover and it's curing.
I also needed a profile to connect the roll hoop cover to the side panels.

Some guy who had a Lotus7 left a piece of 1mm Aluminium here before covid which he wanted to fashion a trunk cover from.
He said use it.
The piece was already curved so I marked it with a Sharpie and used a piece of 38mm tubing to put a reverse curve on it.
Bingo!!!. This isn't Providence, Rhode Island boys this is Divine Providence!!!!.😁🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✝✝✝✝✝
The way stuff just happens here is crazy.

I now have something to mould off and when that mould is done I can use it on the left side too.
Got release on the flimsy and when it dries I'll hit it with gel coat.

The "eyeball" stage.

I got both profiles done and the right side is Clecoed in place.
The mating surfaces between roll hoop cover and engine cover are virtually seamless.
When I find my M10 CS screws I'll be able to bolt the parts firmly in place.
I lose stuff here like you won't believe.

I wedged one of the curved panels I have into place for a look around the motor and it's pretty close.

Two more images.
This thing is starting to look like something.
Thank you Jesus.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✝✝✝✝✝

Smoothest day ever.
Stuff just fell into place.
Lots of dicing but tomorrow we'll do some splicing.

Biggest wish is to get the shop cleaned but it will wait until the process is over.

Thank you for all these updates.  If you took a guess about when this car will likely to be
completely built and prepared for shipment to a suitable racing venue, (about) when do you
think that day of completion/preparation would be?  Good luck on continued progress.  A lot
of people are visiting your postings.

Thank you.

My mind was made up to go this August. Only 3 months so I'm saying definitely August 2027.
I'm a long way off despite the body work looking close to being done.
I still need to strip, weld on a bunch of brackets and finish welding the chassis.

Paint on that will be a backyard deal. Too long to get in a spray booth.
Body will be coated by SIB.

The venue is Hakskeen Pan where the Bloodhound did their test runs.
It's about 20 miles long. Dry lake bed.
There's no Land Speed Racing Association here in South Africa so this will be a game changer.
SA is weird. Guys here like fast road cars and IMO sanctioned racing is dead. Circuit racing and drag racing is a joke.
Off road is great. The last 2 National records were broken by Willie Hepburn (RIP) in a twin turbo Pontiac Trans Am. I think he did 350 kph on a long stretch of tarred road between Johannesburg and Durban near a town called Villiers in the early 80s. Last one was Grant van Schalkwyk in an American Can Am style car with a Sonny Leonard big block all funded by Dunlop to promote the rubber he used. Only South African thing in that deal was the driver. He went 386 kph on the AFB runway at Hoedspruit. The car did the promo tour and went back to the US.

My involvement came via a coke head car tuner who had delusions of taking a BMW M3 made from Carbon in the early 2000s to Verneukpan to break the record. He was impossible to deal with and when the deal went sour he got a known hitman involved. That guy sided with me and the coke head left the scene. BTW, he took his own life in November last year.

I was angry and made a crazy decision after Rob left. Here we are!!!!!.
In hindsight I think this was meant to be.

Divine Providence is my major backer. I just go where my nose takes me.🙏🏻✝

I wish I could give you better news about an earlier date but 12 years of this has taught me there are no rush jobs.
God Bless you.

With this much project for a one man show it's impossible to estimate when it will be ready to run. Over the 16 years it took me to build mine my standard answer became "Wednesday!" aktion086

Yep it's a race car.... the good answer is "it's a landspeed car, it will never be done"  however I hope to have it ready to race while I'm still young...
That's the answer I always give... to folks that have no idea what it takes to build from scratches on a napkin.

Thanks guys.

At least I know one thing you guys do!!!!.
TIME. It's way better when you just say Wednesday. Sid, I get you man. I'll use it when anyone asks in the future. Thank you.😂
Bob. I was bright eyed and Gung Ho AND NOW I'm Mr. Wednesday. I'm enjoying the process. You just give in and work on what's in front.
God Bless.🙏🏻✝

Progress is steady. I unfortunately can't post images because I don't know the URL deal.
If any one can offer insight I'd be most grateful. Thank you.🙏🏻
