Got the wishbone welded.

We're getting there.

One bite at a time M8, you are getting there.
Today I was teaching myself how to hot wire a jet engine with a spark maker thingy from a furnace. It spins & sparks now so tomorrow I'll try shooting some diesel into it through the fuel control valve gismo. This $hit's fun!

Sid, without you and all the guys here I'd have no life.

Anything I thought I knew before was nothing compared.
I understand why now.

This is the journey of note. You can't beat this.
The brain would light up like a Christmas Tree under an MRI.

You getting a jet motor going?. You'll need one. I'm coming for you mate. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Electrical is supposed to be my nemesis but I'm learning.
All alone here. I made trouble and now the turbo guy hates me. He's the genius that used to fly to the NHRA Nats
to tune Fooltech ECUs. They played me so I complained to Fooltech about the local agent. He happens to be that guy!!!.
Sold me a unit without EGT capability. Lied and now I'm the bad guy. I've been crying for weeks, not.😁😁😁
No one will take accountability. So the guy who buys the most wins?.
I don't give one penny about their opinions. Something better will come. I have the faith.🙏🏻✝

O.K.....I will ask. Sid, What are you doing with a jet engine?
I`d never advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...But they work for me.

It's actually a turbo shaft GPU engine so a jet engine with a gearbox to me 8-) & I bought it because I can't resist cool stuff that turns & makes bitchin noises. How many gear heads could walk away from that for 150 bucks & it shows 500hrs on the meter. I'm gathering up all the parts I've collected for a T Coupster that will be my winter project & I haven't decided what to put in it yet. So far I've ruled out the 337 Flathead, the Dodge & DeSoto Hemi's & it's down to the turbine or a 224 inch 4 banger Mercruiser that I haven't bought yet for 400 bucks. I have a 4-71 that would look good hanging on the side of that with a couple of 2" SU's. There's also an Alfa Romeo engine with mechanical fuel injection that's been for sale for a while that hasn't lost my attention yet! I just wanna build something cool & different, get back to my hot rodding roots & be driving it in the spring.
  Sid.

Oh this should be good. 🍿 😎
Most rules are written in blood and...... Rule changes are bought by a big fat check. 😉

floydjer

If one of you an Allison V-1710 laying around? I promise I will build a cart for it and roll that bitch out in the driveway at fire it up every night at sunset. Back to you Mike.😁

Sid,

I like your thoughts on being different. I always thought a front mount roots blower would look good on any motor in a roadster. Good luck on the project what ever way you go!

I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

The rational person lets verified facts form or modify his opinion.  The ideologue ignores verified facts which don't fit his preconceived opinions.

tauruck

I love all you guys but hey Sid is a mate.😂😂😂😂

Sid, I'd hang out with you anytime.

See, $150 for a jet motor!!!!.

You guys are living the dream.

I'd be completely nuts over there.
Way to go Sid.👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻

I'm trying to get a bearing kit for this 10 bolt GM rear end.
All I have is a number stamped on the crown wheel.
I have no clue if it's a 7, 7.2 or 8". So many part numbers.
How do I measure this thing for size?.

kiwi belly tank

Yeah you totally would Mike! I would have so much more stuff if I didn't show some restraint but sometimes even I just can't resist. The best thing I ever did was move to the US & I have Al & Jane to thank for that. Don't take this the wrong way people but the US is an extremely wasteful place & I love every bit of it.
About 18 years ago somebody asked me when was the last time I went home & it just struck me, I am home so I said this morning! 8-) Right then I realized it was time to become a citizen & about a year later some official shook my hand & said "Welcome to America!".
  Sid.
ps 7-1/2" is the dia of the ring gear on a 7-1/2 10 bolt.

floydjer

So.....What ARE the #s on the ring gear? And a big "Welcome" Sid.

I've been trying to get there since I could read. Still freakin angry because I couldn't get the Airborne G.I. Joe in SA.
I grew up around Sprint Cars so I read a lot. Bought all the magazines I could find too.
When I was 16 there was an American guy over here setting up the TV network for the country. His kids kinda played hockey with us.
He was hell bent on taking me to the States to play hockey. He had a meeting with my mom begging her to let me go.
Offered to be my guardian and send me to college etc because he was convinced I'd play in a good team. She laughed in his face brother!!!!!.

Anything I did was never good enough for her. In 02 I got invited to Sturgis for that biker build off thing. We never had R1,5m to ship the bike, get transport etc.

If God wants me to go he'll pick the right time.
I'd fit right in. I know the country believe me. It's Rome of the modern age. 😂😂😂
Mike Nish spent a season here in the early 80s and he was a nice guy. Only the second American I've ever really had a 30 minute coversation with.

Jerry, the part # is GM560138 on the ring.
I'm just hoping the bearing sizes are all common?.
I'm going to measure the OD today and I'll get back.
