   I may have missed something but can not find any chat about the Dog and Pony Show that is getting a room reservation for SW. I have not tried yet as it is always after the the first of the year. Are the big 3 doing the on line, overpriced, commit to 3 night minimum as last year?

I just tried -- and here's what the Rainbow/Peppermill/Montego reservation phone lady told me:

"SpeedWeek reservations will be available starting FEBRUARY 9 AT 9AM MOUNTAIN TIME ON THE INTERNET ONLY."[/b]

I haven't looked at their website this morning - suppose it tells the same story.  There you have it -- another month of waiting before the games begin.

I just spoke with my contact in Wendover.  Reservations to open up on Feb 9th.  Will be a 3 nite mininum.  Reservations by internet only.

I didn't know there was a specific time to reserve rooms, I made a reservation at the nugget on line last week with no problems.

Okay, ladies and gentlemen, take that for a hint:  The Rainbow/Peppermill/Montego Bay is owned by one group, the Nugget (nee Stateline) by another.  Maybe (and I stres it's only a MAYBE) the Nugget won't be playing by the February 9th at 9AM rules.  You might give them a try, just for the heck of it.

On my confirmation page the only thing it states is if I cancel less than 24 hrs my credit card will be charged and a little over a grand for check in Friday the 13 to check out Saturday the 21.

  12th to 21st deluxe queen no smoking 131.55 average per night with all taxes

But it won't be like Sleeper 6,with Freud and the Amo's.etc. LOL But If I get lucky at Motel 6, I'll release these on the SW cancellations thread to come. Thanks again for the tip! Oh yeah, there is The Rat Rod Nitely Car SHow. Maybe spot Meguiars again!

Just checked Nugget's web site. Only shows Jacuzzi', king, single for about $1200 13th thru 20th. Sounds like the same old games.

A close friend telephoned me the night before last and said the Nugget was taking reservations for August. I pulled them up and reserved two rooms, twin queens,no smoking for Speedweek with no problem. The cost for two rooms was close to what I had to pay Montego for one room last year. Roadster is ready and so am I.
