Intercooler box plug.

A few layers of high density Styrofoam cut and bonded but avoiding buttering
the Epoxy adhesive right to the edges.
This creates a sanding problem between hard and soft.

After initial rough shaping and checking for clearance I added some 161gr/m S glass to the flat base.
Followed that up with peel ply to create a mechanical bond for Epoxy filler later.
I do the flat side first for manageability. You don't want rocking and rolling on the second step.
I prop in a few wedges to hold the profiled side.
5l container cut for resin. This is the perfect size for the short haired Mohair roller.

tauruck

The first stage used 125gr of Epoxy to cover the base with glass and peel ply.

It cured overnight so I pulled off the peel ply for the overlap that was coming.

275gr of Epoxy for the top. I typically cut the fabric to a rough size and roll it up.
I position it on the part at one end. After that I use the roller to wet out the area not covered with
the roll. Once wetted out I roll the S glass over the part and then lift the remaining roll and wet out the short
dry area. By the time you've rolled that short section the original area is already printing through.

tauruck

Start in the middle of the part and roll in one direction only!!!!.
Back and forth will lift the glass. Once fully wetted out you could but I don't.
The corners all have radii so I pie cut small areas of the glass and peel ply
because this is "female" side work. Things tend to want to lift.

As you can see the roller handle fits nicely over the rim of the container.
If you relax and don't chase you can finish this job without sticky fingers.
I've never worn gloves and these experts in the hazmat suits and gloves make me want to do bad stuff.

There was minimal waste. Maybe 20gr left in the container. The roller is soaking halfway in Acetone and
after a few hours I'll wipe it off and soak it in warm water containing washing powder. A roller is cheap
but why waste right?. They'll last a year easy if looked after and won't leave fibres in your work.

Anyone that needs advice knows how to reach me. Only too happy to assist.🙏🏻👊🏻✝

As my buddy Jim would say..."Un-washed Philistines"
I`d never advocate drugs, alcohol, violence or insanity to anyone...But they work for me.

Found that Div guy on YouTube.
He's a nut job but he's authentic.
Those boys wake up with booze.
Watching that was like a military rerun.

Shaping the intercooler box.

Good thing I use the good Spies Hecker fine filler.
What a pleasure. She's getting close now.
A few low spots and I can radius corners.

Got the intercooler box mould ready for Carbon.

It looks fine but this was after it fell and needed a repair.

Old butter fingers.
