Buddy, Put that Ford  together  and work on some seat time  make it roll under its own power  camp out in the desert and  and run it through the gears NA  shift the tranny pop the chutes  then put the serous power to it after you have some seat time with knowledge in your personal evaluator---your head

Great advice Sparky. Unlike you guys I only have one shot at this. I don't have the funding to build multiple motors and I sold a bunch of stock parts from the 2V motor for bucks to pay for utilities.
Tom and I agreed that I should finish the body, get it painted and on the floor so that it looks like a streamliner. South Africans have no idea what this vehicle is and they are risk averse. Once I have the yellow thing down on the floor there are a bunch of marketing managers from big corporations wanting to have a look. My only advantage is this liner will be national news due to the unique nature and will be a great branding platform. I have 5 prospects and my gut says at least one will bite. Who knows, maybe all 5 want in????.

If this all works out I can go out to the lakebed and spend a month there. This is a huge deal. I don't have a truck and trailer so I've got sponsorship from a truck manufacturer and another that manufactures trailers. Even if I had the funding where would I park a big rig on my quarter acre piece of land?. You guys probably think I'm a player coming here and crying poverty?. Not so. Got no work. Not one customer and the old girl has been supporting me all the way. Life is hard but I'm Blessed so I live like the Sparrows. Not a worry in the world. I just do. I have the materials I need and right now it looks like I'll finish the body without running short.

The body panels are getting Clecoed together and I'm bonding them. One at a time. I'm making progress but not in a mad rush. Day by day.

A crazy thing happened and I don't believe in coincidences!!!. I want a Gen2 Coyote because they can run high RPM and the 50 year old Cleveland won't do 5 miles at 9 grand. Not by any stretch.
A local guy is selling a Coyote for less than half what the other specialist importers are asking.
My gearbox guy Rowan has clients who are into classic Ford muscle and he came to visit so I pitched him on selling all the Cleveland stuff for me. The parts are worth more than the asking price for the Coyote. He's got the list and is busy organising.
I get these feelings. Thoughts that come from somewhere!!!. I call the guy who's selling the Coyote motor.
It turns out it came out of a Mustang with 2,000 miles on it. Warranty engine swop. Oil cooler leak so the dealership replaced the motor as a precaution.
The owner is a guy I know of who is a huge Ford guy with a stable of muscle and collector cars. The dealer principal is his close buddy.
I pitched the seller. I offered all my Boss Cleveland aftermarket stuff for the Coyote. Blocks, heads, cranks, rods, pistons, rockers you name it.
I also offered the dealer principal branding exposure on the liner if he wants to invest?. Between them the seller thinks there's a good possibility.
The craziest part is the guy has the most Dutch surname you'll ever hear but he's also a Catholic boy. We spent about an hour chatting and even had a prayer at the end.

What Jesus Christ wants I get. Plain and simple!!!!. I'm not the least bit worried. Now we wait.✝✝✝🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I agree 100% with Sparky!

Thanks Michael. My reply to you is as I replied to Sparky.
God is good and HE's got this. I'm just the hands.
Watch this space. Things are happening. God Bless you.🙏🏻✝

I'm not getting the Gen2 Coyote.
It was sold. Not meant for me but DEUS VULT!!!.
Something always comes up.

I made a jig to hold the honeycomb panels so I get symmetry left to right.
Laid down one skin with honeycomb and Clecoed it to the former and laid up another 6 layers.

Got the curved wheel pant laminated and hung it on the right side.
Trimming to come.
Left on the table ready to go.

Mike,

Take their advice, get the car to move under its own power. There must be a reason that the other motor was sold. Think about that.
Everyone is only trying to help.

Tom G.

I love the USA. How much longer will we be a free nation?

Asking questions is one's only way of getting answers.

The rational person lets verified facts form or modify his opinion.  The ideologue ignores verified facts which don't fit his preconceived opinions.

Thanks Tom.

All in good time.

My "gut" and other little voices say "get the body work done".
There's huge potential when that's achieved.

The operators.
These guys selling the Gen2 Coyote are just that.
My connection in Cape Town who brokered the deal for the sale of all my redundant Cleveland parts called me from Tanzania last night.
He's up there drilling boreholes but wants to come see the long car when he flies home.
I was telling him I tried buying/making a deal on the motor.
Short story is my mate bought 15 motors from Ford SA for R5,000 each. They all had split oil coolers. A few were still perfect and the rest had bearing problems.
When this so called Christian dude wanted to pray with me I found it odd but went along out of respect.

I was in the trade for years and replaced factory warranty deals don't involve the customer keeping the old motor. When I asked the operator said the dealer principal was his best mate!!!!.
I then asked for the dealer's name because I thought I could maybe get a motor and give him branding exposure. He didn't know they guy!!!. All stories.
Corne sold motors to guys for 10 grand as is and these operators sold them for 75 grand.

Doors get slammed shut in my face for good reason. I'm protected BIG TIME!.

The motor will come.
Got some body panels bonded and at the current rate with a limited Cleco supply I can hang one section a day. I have about 14 days to go.

tauruck

Wheel pants and engine cover sides mocked up.
Really a two man job this one. Ungainly panels.
Weight isn't the issue but you need a long reach.

All good though. I can put the body panel buttons in after I take everything off after marking.

I finally got my laser cut steel parts for my canopy thermoforming tool.
Waiting since late November. I'll fry on the frames to stiffen the plates in the AM.
Gas burner done. Need to build a box. All good this side guys.
Making progress.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✝👊🏻👊🏻

Mike, what will the canopy be made of?  How thick?
I wish more people had as much patience as you have.
Good luck with this part of the project (forming and other related fabrication tasks in making the canopy).

tauruck

6mm Lexan.
I think it is.
I have it stored so haven't seen it in a while.
It's the best out there. My sponsor Babera yup no "r" is a racer herself and the material is proven.
I have 6 sheets which should produce 12 canopies.

I have a mentor in the US called Gary Lavarack. He's the guy that thermoformed a clamshell Acrylic body for an electric car he was designing.
I'm following his advice. He says blow mould the part inverted so gravity helps and you get an even shape.

I'm not that patient but necessity is the mother of invention and I'm a lucky guy. I only need 2 that are perfect.
The tool is made and just needs a few stiffening ribs welded in but yesterday I did myself an injustice. I was bending square tubing by hand to create bows.
I did both my rotator cuffs. Not one, both!!!. Bending using a hollow tube on the side of the gantry. Down was no problem but then the long end touched the ground. When it came to do the other side I tried bench pressing!!!!!. Not a good idea.
Anyway, the gas burner is already made and I've fitted the male part for the air line. Now I have to build the box.

I'm on light duty here now. How long?. Who knows?.

Mike... till you can move them without pain... no don't cheat with ibuprofen... there are some PT exercises to help the other muscles of the shoulder do the work...

Mind reader!!!!. Blasphemer!!!!! Heretic!!!!!!.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

You're on another level. Weird stuff that I paid particular attention to Lent this year. God Bless you Stainless. Both Jesus' shoulders were dislocated on the cross.
I did mine on Ash Wednesday!!!!!.
I guess I can handle this little bit of pain for how long it takes.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✝✝✝✝✝
This boy has had his fair share of injuries. I could write a book.
I'll take things easy until I heal up.

This liner is the most awesome adventure. No two days are the same and she'll get done.👊🏻👊🏻👊🏻
Without you guys I'm just another aimless, dull dude.

I want to thank each and every one of you for sticking with me. BEST FRIENDS ON EARTH.

tauruck

Built a cradle for the diff from a busted old trolley jack.

Everything is on wheels except the liner.

tauruck

I'm a straight shooter. I tell it like it is.
I tell you now, I was laughing while building this liner.
What until we get to the body work!!!!!.
I'm going to slay it.

I've been around a long time. Built a Carbon 911, built a Group C Gebhardt revamp and made a Carbon Mazda Pro Mod from junk BMW moulds.

This thing, the Springfield Flyer is kicking my butt 40 ways from Sunday.
If I knew I could tell you. Maybe it's just the size?. Like building a bridge across a gorge and stuff needs to meet in the middle!.
Under the gun and what I thought I knew went out the window.

They look like long pencils with a flat bottom!. Tell that to the Marines. This is a tough job and I'm learning.
Some pics for you guys. God Bless you all.🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻✝✝
